So I went for a run through ND's campus yesterday and I got to catch a bit of their practice. I watched the QBs for awhile and Zaire has a pretty good (left)arm on him. Rees didn't look like anythign different than what we know him to be. He didn't really have any extra zip on the ball as I would've liked to see. Kelly spent probably 10 minutes with Zaire alone(during the time I watched), good to see he spends time individually with players, not that that's unique.

The only other area I got to watch was the O-line and D-line. Nothing spectacular as they were just matching up against the D-line. No RBs were used to hit holes or anything like that.

I wish I would've been able to see more of the skill positions and LBs, as those areas kind of concern me the most this year. From my vantage point, I could only see the QBs and lines, as they were literally 20 feet from me.

How did Rees ever make it to where he has, the starting quarterback of the Fighting Irish? Call me crazy I ask this all the time. The right place at the right time. He must pinch himself every day. He reminds me a little like Trent Dilfer. Now don't get me wrong Dilfer had much more talent but you get what I mean. They are asking him to be a caretaker, not be a playmaker.

In 2010 Scout had Tommy Rees ranked #64 among the qbs that year. Now he leads a team who played in the national championship the previous year. I wish him well.

Tommy is one bad half away from being benched. He knows he has to perform or he will be yanked.

Golson had a decent year (for a freshman) last year but showed great potential. I really know nothing about Zaire, but there is a possibility he could be great. As I have said before, our QB situation is the same as it was at this time last year. Kelly has no love for Rees. I am sure that Kelly will work Zaire into games as much as possible starting with Temple.

Notre Dame has played flat at home. ND NEEDS TO BEAT THE SNOT OUT OF TEMPLE! Last year Wake was the only easy home game we had. ND played far better on the road last year and Kelly knows that.

I don't know how ND will find its offense this year. However, we have very talented young players that are capable of stepping up to the challenge. I think the Irish offense will surprise us this year in a good way.

It's going to be really important to establish a strong running game this year to take the pressure off of Tommy or whoever plays. This scares me as we have no proven running backs.(although a lot of untested talent). I think the line will be good, but establishing a balanced attack will help.

I couldn't agree more. It essential that this team be solid on defense and running the ball. In all honesty I expect the Irish will have a good ground game this year. Call me optomistic.

Has anyone heard how Zaire looks with respect to running the ball. Or just his mobility in the pocket.

Tommy will be fine, better than fine...you all watch. Myself, read through half this thread and almost threw up.

Tommy the man, the senior, will be fine to great.

Think we should start referring to him as Thomas, Tommy sounds like a boy. Thomas Rees. ;)

He's selling brake pads, he's an underdog, he's Tommy Boy and I believe he lives in a van down by the river too.

I think you're there. But just think, Maybe six months from now, ND will be selling " Tommy Football" t-shirts.

After looking at a few of those awesome pics, I've broke out my shillelagh. I consider the Tommy shirt flair.
