Draw came out today. I did not look at it yet but I did read that Novak and Rafa are on the same side of the draw

Thanks. I'll try to do my predictions and matches to look forward to, tonight.

As I said a few weeks ago, whoever Tommy Haas plays in the first round, hopefully he can win a match.

I dislike how the FO schedules QFs at the same time. They always put 2 good ones. Like in 2015, it was FED vs. Wawrinka and Djokovic vs. Nadal. They then do the split screen. It makes it hard to watch both matches.

2012 also had FED vs. Del Potro and Djokovic vs. Tsonga at the same time. Both went the distance. Both were on the split screen.

They need more courts, this major has the last amount of courts.

More courts would relieve the need to have so many matches in a short amount of time.

Men's Draw:

Murray's Quarter:

Murray - Del Potro 3rd round: I don't have faith in Del Potro to stay healthy within a tourney or win a big match.

He's done well year before, but that was such a long time ago. Murray in 3.

Isner - Berdych 3rd round: Berdych should win this as he's the better overall player. But Go Isner. Isner in 4.

Isner - Murray 4th round: Usually I pick Isner to win a set or something. But I can't do that against Murray. Murray in 3.

Alexander Zverev - Verdasco 1st round: Zverev in 5.

Zverev - Nishikori 4th round: Zverev has more tools. This is a pick em but the edge goes to Zverev. Zverev in 4.

Zverev - Murray QF: This is another pick em. I'm rooting for both players, but I'll go with the better player in 2017. Zverev in 5.

Wawrinka's Quarter:

Gasquet - Monfils 3rd round: This could be the match of the tourney. I'll pick Monfils in 5. Both have a lot of tools, but Monfils can crush it a little harder.

Wawrinka - Monfils 4th round: I'm definitely scared of this one. I don't know how Wawrinka will win this one, but Wawrinka in 5.

Tsonga - Krygios 3rd round: Krygios has had a good spring. Krygios in 4.

Ferrer - Young 1st round: Go Donald Young, but Ferrer in 4.

Cilic - Ferrer 3rd round: I don't like this matcup for Cilic at all. Ferrer in 3.

Krygios - Ferrer 4th round: Ferrer has been old for a few years. Krygios in 4.

Wawrinka - Krygios QF: Another tough one for Wawrinka. A pick em. Rooting for Wawrinka, Wawrinka in 4.

Nadal's Quarter:

Simon - Nadal 4th round: In terms of playing style, this could be a good match. But it's Nadal.

Nadal in 3.

Sock - Nadal 4th round: If Sock were going against anyone but Nadal, this would be a good match. Nadal in 4.

Raonic - Dmitrov 4th round: I wouldn't be surprised at any result. But I'll pick the better mover. Dmitrov in 4.

Dmitrov - Nadal QF: I'll give Dmitrov a small chance. Most likely result is Nadal in 3.

Djokovic's Quarter:

Goffin - Karlovic 3rd round: I'll give Goffin the edge as Karlovic is old. Goffin in 4.

Goffin vs. Thiem 4th round: A rematch from last year. Thiem in 4.

Tipsarevic - Djokovic 2nd round: Tipsarevic hasn't been on his game in several years. If he is, this could be a good match. Djokovic in 3.

Mischa Zverev - Djokovic 3rd round: This doesn't appear to be Mischa's best surface. But if he can frustrate Djokovic, this could be entertaining. Most likely result is Djokovic in 3.

Pouille - Djokovic 4th round: This has a medium chance of being a good match. I'll give Pouille a set. Djokovic in 4.

Djokovic - Thiem QF: I don't think this will be good for Thiem. Djokovic in 3.


Alexander Zverev - Wawrinka SF: This is a hard draw for Wawrinka. But in a best of 5, he's tough. Wawrinka in 4.


Nadal - Djokovic SF: This match always has potential. But based on Djokovic's 2017, this might not be a close match. Nadal in 3.


Wawrinka - Nadal Finals: I give this match a better chance of being competitive than a Nadal vs. Djokovic. Wawrinka would be the underdog in yet another Men's GS Finals.

Nadal in 3 is the most likely result. But as Wawrinka has shown, he can bring his A game in the SFs and Finals. If he does, Wawrinka has a small chance of winning.

But I'll go with the most likely result. Wawrinka will break Nadal at least once.

Women's Singles:

Kerber's Quarter:
Kvitova - Stosur 3rd round: Kvitova hasn't played since last year after the home invasion injury. But when healthy, she's the better player. So I'll go with Kvitova in 3.

Kvitova - Wozniacki QF: I don't know if Wozniackii can get this far. But if she does, this is the matchup.

Wozniacki is a more natural at this surface. But she hasn't beaten a top player in a while.

And Kvitova is still coming back from injury.

I'll pick Kvitova, because Wozniacki has disappointed me lately. But I'm rooting for Wozniacki, because I want to see her winning again.

Kvitova in 3.

Muguruza's Quarter:

Venus - Cibulkova 4th round: Cibulkova hasn't beaten a top player in a while. Venus in 2.

Schiavone - Muguruza 1st round: Schiavone is tough, especially on this surface. Schiavone in 2.

Schiavone - Venus QF: I doubt either player makes it this far. But according to the way I picked matches in the earlier rounds, these are the best remaining players.

I'll pick Schiavone because this is a better surface for her. Schiavone in 2.

Halep's Quarter:

I have no idea who comes out of this. I'll pick Svitolina.

Pliskova's Quarter:

Konta - Pliskova QF: I think Konta is better on this surface. But I feel like going against my initial instinct. I'll pick Pliskova in 2.


Kvitova - Schiavone SF: I'll go with the younger player. Kvitova in 2.

Svitolina - Pliskova SF: This is shaping to be another major where someone returns from injury and goes far. Pliskova in 3.


Kvitova - Pliskova Finals: This is a weird predicted Finals. I'm rooting for both players. I'll go with Kvitova, she makes less mistakes.

I'd love Va-Va over Nadal in straights but that would require a lot of dreaming. It wouldn't be too bad if one of the nextGens pull it off either.
