The Advocate's Nick Underhill reports the final year of Mark Ingram's deal will void if he is named a first-team All-Pro this season, making him a free agent.

It is an interesting clause which suddenly seems attainable with Ingram averaging 121 yards from scrimmage over the last six games. As of right now, he ranks fourth in rushing yards, yards from scrimmage, and total touchdowns, and he should climb each of those lists if he keeps up his current pace.
If he becomes a free agent, Ingram would be near the top of an interesting class which could potentially include Le'Veon Bell, Carlos Hyde, Jerick McKinnon, Isaiah Crowell, and several other interesting names.

Bell, Hyde and Ingram have all proven to be stud RB's who are difference makers. We could save all our draft resources for defense at that point.

What do you guys think?

If Ingram is an AllPro he becomes a FA, that'd be expensive. But fuck it.

Hyde is a horse on a bad team.

Bell would be the holy grail. I would take either of them if the price is right.

Ingram scares me. He was the feature back in a loaded passing offense but never seems to make big plays. Ingram is from Michigan so maybe he grew up a Lions fan?

I would tather draft one in Rd 2 or 3 than pay for someone's used car.

We only need one for a few years while we load up on defense in the draft. In a couple years when the young defense matures and is stout, we can draft a RB high.

It's not like we have any AllPro DTs or WRs to pay anymore.

That could change in FA next year too. I think you know who I am talking about.

Anywho, I would take Ingram if the price is right. The other 2 will cost more then they are worth. I think our running trouble these days have more to do with design then personnel. Still, I want to get rid of AA so we will need a RB.

Not sure why we aren't seeing this Tion Green guy get any runs? Can he be any worse than the guys we got now?

We will at least need to replace AA. I like Theo as our receiving back. Green has some talent too. Washington can go IMO and I am on the fence with ZZ. Dont care there.

There may be quite a few FAs, but how many will really hit the market. Here is the list.

Bell is not an option and probably is not going anywhere. I like Chris Thompson and Carlos Hyde and maybe Jeremy Hill.

The kid from LSU (Guice) will be there when we draft in round 1. Have not looked past round 1 in the draft yet though. Saving that for Feb.

I'd rather have Nick Chubb over Guice.

Yup. There are some pretty good Chubbs in this draft.
Id Love it if we got Chubb from NC State.

He'll be Top 5-6 though.

Can't say I'd want us to trade up ten picks or whatever. But we better not take a RB round 1. Barry ran behind better lines than this one.

Bell's not going anywhere. Hyde is next choice. As said above, he's a stud on a bad team. So, he'll fit right in. He's good.

I think we are 2 lineman away from having a good line. Hopefully that gets addressed too.

Hyde is a very good player.

But he is a bit of an injury risk. Missed 12 games the last two years.

Bringing him in would save a pick for more defense though. I'm not against it. But a little leery.

Hyde would be cool just watched a bit of his film he's had a lot of good runs off of delayed handoffs out of the shotgun.

One if we had kept Reif.

That was a mistake.

Not really. He was not going to play RT for anyone. Decker will be better than him by next year. Reiff gets smoked by speed rushers late in the year as he wears down too.
