Cut the fat, clean the cupboards and make room for the next group. The new coaches made the practices a business again. No candy land bullshit anymore. On time is late, play through the whistle, get it right the second time at the very latest.

Some of these are legit injuries. Some don't like the new mood of practices. It's a while new mindset now, and I think we need it. This is 1995-2005 style prep. If you can't hang, peace out, make room for the next guy.

If they can do this and still have enough depth to finish the season, more power to them.

The verdict on last years team is that the talent was there, but the discipline and toughness wasn't. That wasn't just from the coaches, it was also from outside observers.

Manning needs to talk to a guy like Cris Hill. Hill came it recruited fairly high but never could lock down one of the starting spots like he thought he would. But he busted his ass on special teams and in spot duties. But in his last season, he finally was able to get starts and proved to be a pretty solid contributor. Hill proves that just because you get beat out once, doesn't mean you're done. If you fight for it, Foster will find a place for you on the field

CB depth just got real slim. It's a good thing we hit that position hard this year and last. I also think this means we will push hard at Simmons.

Yup. I hope Riley can step up this year, Cequan Jefferson might play as a true frosh next year.

Riley is one of the smartest players on the team for being so young. He KNOWS coverages. We sill be OK as far as starters and a little off the bench but if we have a couple injuries we are going to have a tough time out there defending the spread teams.

There is one cure for this and that is an enormous pass rush. We have the pieces for that as well.
