He'd have to sit 2 years if he came to another ACC school so don't see him landing in the ACC

Will the Thorpe kid transferring from UNC to UVA have to do the same?

Apparently not, because he graduated from UNC. Therefore he can go anywhere and be eligible immediately.

Might there be some attrition... On the coaching staff.

Report: Beamer a candidate at Texas

And of course there are some posters ready to push him out the door :smh:

Well there is a novel idea, leverage SB for ST! I am pretty sure 99.99% of all Hokies out there would love for someone else to give it a try. SB seemed to do just fine in the bowl...

SB looking for his next gig may say something about how long Frank will be around more than anything

Moorehead leaving for another gig?

You seen something? I just checked Twitter for some buzz and got nothing other than a few fans (rightly) asking Whit to pay him

Well that fucking sucks. Moorehead was like the one guy on the offensive staff we couldn't afford to lose. He'd done a great job coaching WRs, getting the most out of lesser caliber players and then this year getting big production out of two true freshmen. And more importantly, he was arguably our best recruiter. Whit should have found a way to keep him. He deserved more than what he was getting. I'll just flat out say it. His salary should have been swapped with Shane Beamer's.

+1. By far he was our best recruiter.

They should have whipped out the checkbook on that one. Recruiting counts.

I don't see Texas A&M as a promotion.

He definitely seemed to be our best/most relentless recruiter. Losing him will probably hurt bad when it comes to 2016. He had us well positioned for some DC and MD studs. He is making 185,500 here, and TAMU's lowest paid assistant made about 250,000. Also with the uncertainty around the program with regards to Beamer's situation, I can't blame him for leaving.

Taking off my homer glasses, I disagree. More $$$, more resources, SEC, a fertile recruiting ground in Texas, more future stability wrt the coaching staff. I don't blame him for leaving. Good luck to him. VT will survive.

I doubt CFB asked Whit to give him a raise and was refused

Eh, whatever. Like I said, I don't see it as a promotion. VT should have whipped out the checkbook. The biggest advantage I see here is in getting a variety of jobs in to help with future upward mobility.
