Here's to hoping Carroll and Heath barely see the field. I know it's early, but they both getting burned already.

I think we are a better team if someone beats those two out. If not by week 1, then hopefully at least by mid-year.:hope:

Titan fever here in Nashville. USA Today predicted them 12-4. Peter King says top 4 team. Radio is going crazy here.

I think by the time camp ends the starting secondary is going to be..

CB1 O.Scandrick
SS C.Awuzie
FS B.Jones
NCB J.Lewis
CB2 A.Brown

I think we will see them use Awuzie very much like Byron Jones was in his first season. The wildcard is X.Woods. One thing is for certain, this is the most athletic secondary Dallas has had that I can remember in a long time - maybe in my lifetime.

One question I have is, will Scandrick seriously get pushed for his job? I think J.Lewis might be Dallas' best cover CB right now. I wouldn't want to hamper Brown's development, so leave him out there. But could Scandrick get pushed to full time nickel role, and Lewis take over one the outside?

not what i want or would pick myself, but my prediction for what the team does week 1 is:
Brown, Carroll, Scandrick
Jones, Heath

hope I'm wrong

agreed and this team is worlds better if Scandrick only plays nickle & dime packages

If Scandrick is the 3rd or 4rth best CB on this team then I would say we are a lot better back there than we have been in a long time.

I guess I'll have to read about what you guys thought about the game until I can watch the game in a couple of days.

watched the first half of the game and thought Kellen Moore played great. The one stupid int in the red zone was of course the big play and offset all the good but he was really good other than that. He made some great throws and a couple of the incompletes were just him throwing the ball away when nothing was there. Very impressive game one for him IMO. Alfred Morris was fantastic. He just looked so much faster than McFadden. He ran hard and he changed the game when he came in. He isn't a great receiver or STs, but he can run the ball. Butler and Gathers also were real good. The downside is of course the pass D. Starters, reserves, whomever is in there it always seems the same problem. Of course who cares about the first preseason game, but I only bring it up because our starting safeties were in the game when Gabbert carved up the middle of the field.

Anyone hear an update on Brown's hamstring? I read the next day it wasn't considered serious but we all know this team and it's non-stop history of hamstring issues...

I don't understand all the Taco Charlton bashing after the game. I think Blaine Gabbert did a great job of getting the ball out quick. I saw some serious upside in Taco in that game. I saw 97 getting up the field. He should have gotten credit for a QB pressure but he didn't. He beat a double team one time but Gabbert got the ball out quickly. He was pretty solid against the run. Sure, I would have liked him to play better, but he was nowhere near the worst Cowboy pass rusher that night. I guess most Cowboy fans expected Charlton to have a preseason like Dak and Zeke last year or something. Every rookie isn't gonna be great out the gate. Some need time to develop(Dak and Zeke still have some developing to do as well). I think Taco has some serious upside as long as he doesn't become another one of our DEs that gets suspended to stunt his growth.
