"Former" NFL Exec......you know, one of those guys fired by both the Browns and the Eagles. Same guy who said Belichick got screwed in the Eric Rowe trade. Can't keep or get a job in the NFL but is an "expert". Not a ton of credibility.

Andrews is comfortable with the Patriots. Knows his job and how to do it. Has the best offensive line coach in NFL history to help him improve. When he retires he'll have roughly $15M in the bank and a $10,000 a month retirement check. He's not a lavish liver, he's a regular guy and will never be sorry playing for the Patriots. I don't think he'd be able to say the same thing about playing for the Jags.

I hear you Ken. I like Andrews and the signing. He does a good job reading the defense.....

I don't get why so many hate Bolden? Special teams is important. The Pats have one of the best units. Give it a rest.

Fans don't "hate" Bolden.

Remember the fourth game last season? Buffalo 16 Pats 0 ??
I was watching a video yesterday of the entire 2016 season. Bolden was wide open, uncovered in the end zone in that game and dropped a lollipop pass from Brissett. BB was so pissed, Bolden rarely got into another game other than ST for the remainder of the season. That pass might not have made any more difference than a 15-7 score, but it might have fired up the Patriots enough to come back and win 17 - 16.

Would it have changed anything as far as the rest of the season..........???? The 4 point loss to the Seahawks might no have happened, knowing that there was the possibility of an undefeated season after that game......
One never knows what happens after an event, but one could speculate that bigger issues never come into play because of that event.

Bolden isn't hated. Just that having someone different with more flexibility or better skills might be a much better option.

How many ST guys do you really want on this team?? We have 9 of them of the roster already and I am pretty sure we can find 2 more....

Terrible time to release him - why before the cuts? We have some new players that we need to watch play in our system. If we have a better RB that can fill his shoes on ST's, OK then - after we see some work.
I was referring to this season more so than today. NE has more than enough RBs and enough new players to along with the steadfasts STer's to not miss a beat. Waste of a roster spot.

I agree and in a very odd pinch if all 100 roster RBs were to get hurt he could run the ball

Looks like Gerald Hodges is coming in for a visit. I would be down for that. BB is clearly still looking for LB help. Also looks like Jason McCourty is signing with Clev. I thought there would be more of a market for him. Clev not looking to bad this yr.

All the tender means now is that Blount's contract will be part of the comp pick calculations for the Pats and Eagles.

All the tender means now is that Blount's contract will be part of the comp pick calculations for the Pats and Eagles.

At this point it won't effect it at all. For it to matter he will need to meet some of his incentives to get his value up to a 7th round pick. Right now anything below $2.25 million just won't even factor other than adding one more player which to count you have to have had more players signed by other teams than you signed yourself. So with Blount's base salary being $1.25 million Pats need him to earn $1 million in incentives to matter.

Correct, I didn't say it would net them a pick, I just said it would be part of the calculations now, whereas absent the tender it would not have been.

So for the most part the signing is just Blount leaving the Pats?

If he has a good season then it could lead to at most a 6th round pick probably coming their way. More likely it would just be an extra 7th round pick.

With the injuries history to the RB's in Philly, he should do just fine. Or he will get cut in the middle of the season and end up back in NE to win another SB. LOL
