Sandinista-The Clash
Californication-Red Hot Chili Peppers
Vitalogy-Pearl Jam
Nothing's Shocking-Jane's Addiction
Lullabies to Paralyze-Queens of the Stone Age

Each of these take me back to a specific time, and they'd all be in the mix of my favorites/desert island collection.

Ah yes nothings shocking was a good one for.me.too....I remember on first listen I wasn't sure about it but upon relistening I was sold. Always liked the early punk of social.distortions mommy's little.monster the best but saw them play many a small club back when. And superfuzz bigmuff was my mudhoney record that I first associate with.

The Beatles Second Album: Hooked me right away with great vocal harmonies
The Best of the Animals: Introduced me to a much rawer blues based sound of rock and roll
Creedence Clearwater Revival's first album: John Fogerty's vocals hooked me immediately
The Blue Ridge Rangers: Fogerty's excursion into country led me to discover the likes of Merle Haggard, George Jones, etc.
The Blasters "American Music" album: The pure, raw beauty of rockabilly and blues. Second greatest band in the world!

Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Trilogy (It literally changed my entire perception of music)
Mahavishnu Orchestra - Visions Of The Emerald Beyond (I had now discovered jazz and jazz fusion)
King Crimson - Islands (wow!)
Weather Report - Heavy Weather (wow 2.0!)
Larry Young - Unity (made me want to play organ; as opposed to just playing with my organ)

Never was a big album guy as I grew up poor and never had any, so I was more of a songs/radio guy... but I'll list a few here that I really like from when I was actually alive and old enough to understand music:
Guns & Roses - Appetite For Destruction
Mariah Carey - first one, self-titled
Eminem - The Eminem Show
