Washington is really doing a come from behind. Could be an early spring in Columbus.

I said the same about Giroux, and then he doubles his playoff point production in one game.

Best to just keep our damn mouths shut. :(

Panarin hasn't really done much today.

I have to wonder if he got hurt by that knee in game 4. He had zero acceleration last night.

Don't like the result, but can't be upset with the effort. Jackets have matched or outplayed the Caps in 4 of the 5 so far and only won 2. And when the goals go in, they aren't clean. A broken play, a tip and one bob Chunked last night. Power plays are going in, deflections, broken plays. The Jackets are good enough to win this one, they just aren't.

I like the way Torts is approaching it. Hopefully it's the attitude of the whole organization. There's no shame in working your ass off and coming up short. There's only shame in mailing in one (like game 4) and handing wins away. When you play your best you put the pressure on the other team to make the plays to beat you. And in this case the Caps are making those plays. Yeah, you can pissed you lost, but you can't say you let yourself get beat.

This lineup is good. Could probably use a better defensive specialist C and another top 6 winger wouldn't hurt. But don't blow anything up.

Give Panarin what he wants. Give Jenner, Murray and Cole deals. Go ahead and lock Werenski up too. I am now not so disappointed at the prospect of Calvert coming back. He's been good all series.

Still holds true

I agree the years go by and OV does his usual damage and guys like Backstrom, Green, Kuzy etc disappear every spring and let OV holding the bag. About time the rest of the team contribute on some success.

The Capitals outplayed the Jackets in games two and four by a pretty good margin imo...

Game one was probably about even but when watching it live I thought the Jackets were better and I still sort of think that. Game three to my mind was a wash and the game on Saturday the Jackets controled the play of the third period so much that I was stunned they did not win that game in regulation time.

You're giving your team a little much credit but with that said no one should conclude based on this series that one team is really better than the other at even strength. Of course people will still do that but this is the best series of the playoffs and a lot of it comes down to luck and goaltending.

I can't imagine why anyone would give up on this series yet if you're Columbus. Hell seemingly half the time the caps have a 3-1 lead in the playoffs they blow it, so 3-2 is nothing!

Of course people will still do that but this is the best series of the playoffs and a lot of it comes down to luck and goaltending.

The Caps dominated game four without question. And I said "matched or outplayed" regarding the rest. It's been a very even series. Caps controlled about 25 minutes of game 2. Jackets controlled about 20 , rest was even. Overcoming a two goal lead on the road deserves credit. Plus, we chased the starting goalie. That's not completely getting outplayed.

It is possible to play games where both teams deserve to win. And those usually do come down to a break. Jackets got two breaks. Caps got two breaks.

This has been the best series in a long time, IMO. Certainly the best this year.

I can't imagine why anyone would give up on this series yet if you're Columbus. Hell seemingly half the time the caps have a 3-1 lead in the playoffs they blow it, so 3-2 is nothing!

Ohio sports fans, particularly those of the football and baseball teams are a tad shell shocked.

If someone said before this series started that the Jackets would come home to game 6 down 3-2, I don't think anyone would have doubted or questioned it. How they got to that tally was a bit of a surprise, but this series is right about where I expected it. I am reasonably confident it will go to 7, but won't be terribly heartbroken if it doesn't. Jackets have played pretty well step for step with the division winner. Someone has to lose. As long as they don't go all deflated like game four, they can hold their head high.

And it will probably end on a broken, greasy play. At least it's been hard fought and moderately clean. Both Wilson and Anderson took cheap shots in game one, but otherwise it's just been a good hard battle.

I hope the Caps can get it done tonight. They dominated 2 of the games in this series (and lost one of them anyway) and the other 3 have been coin flips with the teams taking turns controlling the play. Wouldn't surprise me if the Jackets won at home tonight, but the Caps really need this win if they are going to go deeper in the playoffs. You can't take them all to 7 games and expect to do well.

Since nearly every game has been close on the scoreboard and the odds are tonight will be another tight one, I'll predict one team will jump out early and not look back. Who that will be? No idea.

One statistic favoring Washington - The Caps have never lost a playoff game with Chris Djoos in the lineup. ;)
One statistic favoring Columbus - The Jackets have only ever won one home playoff game.

Ya know on second thought, that last stat might not actually favor CBJ.

Caps controlled about 25 minutes of game 2. Jackets controlled about 20 , rest was even.
I remember reading that the caps had produced more than three times the number of high danger chances in that game than the jackets and it sure felt like that. I don't understand coming away from game two thinking you had played even with us but alright...

The rest I have no objection to and of course you will have your chances tonight. It would not be the capitals we know and love if they "took care of business" like a normal team so I am sure there will be drama.
