looks like they'll be working together for a 10-week trial period, and see where it goes from there.

so that now makes it Murray with Lendl, Djokovic with Becker, and Fed with Edberg.

pretty awesome.

Can Edberg make him younger?

Seriously though Fed still has a chance to win another major, but he will need to be in the right place at the right time sought of thing ala Marion Bartoli.

oh, i agree

love fed, but he would indeed need a serious string of luck to win a major. wimbledon is his best chance, and it's stills slim to none.

I miss seeing Federer in his prime. 'Twas poetry in motion. The greatest player I've ever seen.

I feel like Fed can make a run at the Aussie Open. At the Aussie Open a lot of those top players are not usually playing their best because it is the start of the yr.

BTW isn't great that the Aussie Open is just weeks away?

I feel like Fed can make a run at the Aussie Open. At the Aussie Open a lot of those top players are not usually playing their best because it is the start of the yr.

The past 3 years, Djok/Nadal/Murr have all been in the top 5 seedings and had a stranglehold on finals.

Djokovic has been #1 for the past 2 years at the Aussie open, and has won 3 in a row, beating #5 (2011), #2 (2012), and #3 (2013) in the finals.

The past 2 years in a row, the 4 semifinalists have all been ranked #1,#2, #3, and #4.

The top players, by definition, have dominated the Aussie Open for several years now.

Federer needs a fast hard court to compete for a slam again, barring some sort of Bartoli-like confluence of events...which is unlikely given the strength of the upper echelon of men's tennis.

Fed needs the draw to open up big time and hit the peak at the right time. Before he could get by with talent and hard work, because he was far more talented than the rest, now that the equation has equalised he has to fight for a GS title like a journeyman and hope that extreme hard work pays off on the court.
