Strength of schedule. The top 4 teams have played the best of the best. Including some D-1 victories under their belts.

So why isn't that not reflected in the coach's poll?

It doesn't really matter, they get to settle it on the field, Whereas, if this was FBS, would Sam be left out?

That would be a good question to debate! I know Jacksonville state's only loss was to LSU and NDSU's only loss was to South Dakota St by 2 but they beat Iowa this year. EWU's only loss was to NDSU in OT, but they have a win over the cougs.

LOL. EIU was pretty bad with losses to SEMO and Murray State

I mean Eastern did go to ISU and beat them and ISU also lost to a bad Indiana State team and bad South Dakota team..

Have been looking forward to it for years. The Lions were all dressed and ready for the dance, but none of the right conferences were extending a hand.

Should be fun.

Likely lose, but can't see UNA playing Bama anytime in the near future. The Lions will have to finish out D2 in the GSC next season, and then they'll have a mix of D2 and FCS teams the next season, finally moving full-scale FCS the following year.

Sure, they could wind up facing Bama a few years down the road ... and it would be the one time I'd pull for a Tide loss.

In the meantime, UNA will play in the quarterfinals this Saturday - and a win would propel them to the D2 national championship game.

Should be an interesting transition. Seeing that you've been a top program in D2 you'll likely rise near the top of FCS.

May not be Alabama but I'm sure it will be cool for you in a few years to see UNA face a FBS team
