What is your favorite Grand Slam?

I'm biased.....I love hard court tennis and I'm born and raised in NYC so you already know that the US Open is at the top of my list.

1) US Open
2) Aussie Open
3) Wimbledon
4) French Open

Hank has a point. If they dont want to compete with football then move up the tourney 1 week. Otherwise I agree that the US Open and Aussie are the best. French sucks. I barely watched.

I always liked to watch Nadal at the French to see just how big a "poop" stain from the clay he could get with his constant bumpicking.

Even the sound (TV audio) at the French is sub-par. Subdued and muted.

But that's not the reason why they moved the men's finals to Monday. They moved it to Monday because they wanted to give the men a day off between the SF & Finals. It used to be Saturday & Sunday

I just prefer the surfaces more than hardcourt. But Wimbeldon is easily my favorite...

I hate wimbledon because the stupid tradition. Wimbledon would rank up there with the other 2 if they actually allowed the crowd to get exciting. The excitement of the US Open & Aussie Open crowds blow Wimbledon out the window

That's fine too. The Monday crap is ridiculous. They have 2 weeks to play the matches. Move Doubles to Monday if they have to.

In 2018 there will be roofs on at least 2 stadiums so the weather would not even hold it up much.

Here's what you need to know about the USTA's renovation plans, which they hope to complete by the 2018 U.S. Open.

• A new Grandstand court will be constructed by the 2015 U.S. Open, which will seat 8,000 fans.

• A retractable roof, made of a teflon-coated PTFE fabric stretched over a steel frame and supported by eight steel columns around the stadium, will be completed by the 2017 U.S. Open, taking two U.S. Opens to complete. The estimated cost of the roof, which was designed by the same designer and architect of Ashe stadium, is over $100 million (Prior roof proposals came with a price tag over $200 million). The roof, which will span 200,000 square feet when closed, will open and close in an east-west direction and take five to seven minutes to close.

• A new Louis Armstrong court will be constructed by the 2018 U.S. Open, seating 15,000 fans. The plans call for Armstrong to be "roof ready" at its completion. Since construction will interfere with at least one U.S. Open period, the plan is to stop construction prior to that U.S. Open, lay a court over the baseplate, and bring in temporary seating. Construction would then resume at the conclusion of that tournament.

• In addition to the new show courts and roof, three new tournament courts will be added to the grounds, as well as a new viewing area for the practice courts. The grounds will also be redesigned to accomodate the expansion, with the practice courts and two other courts being moved to the north side of the grounds.

• Overall, site improvements and reconstruction will allow an estimated 10,000 more fans daily on the grounds, with an estimated 100,000 more fans coming through the gates throughout the two-week tournament.

For those of you who been at the Open before, as you can see in the pictures they're moving the new Granstand court. Before it used to be right next to Armstrong but after renovations it will be on the opposite side of the grounds

It's still stupid when they have the easy first round matches spread out as far as three days apart in the first week and they try to cram the tough semifinal and final on back to back days. It's beyond retarded with this kind of scheduling and makes me want to yell at USTA OFFICIALS " you buffoons, this is why American men's tennis sucks and women will suck too once Serena retires. Why even push it to Monday when you can put a roof and finish the men's matches on time ( and put the semis on Friday) and play the final on a Sunday ?:lame:

Can you read? They're in the process of getting a roof on ashe and Armstrong within the next 4 years (ashe in 2016 & Armstrong in 2018) and the men's finals will be played on Sunday with the semis on Friday. All your bitching is irrelevant because those issues are corrected

Yes and they really took their time about it too. US tennis is last in everything because most American sport fans/ audiences consider it to be the same as poker is considered by a tennis fan ( a joke). Lol

US Is probably the last slam that is getting the roof. It's a shame.

No it's not. French still doesn't have a roof on any court either.

The rain doesn't affect the claycourts in a big way as it does HARDCOURTS. They all need roofs to minimize the delay in scheduling.

No slam should go to a fifteenth day. There is no need. USO Main draw and qualifying is no bigger than other slams.
