Love me some fried catfish, especially if I catch it myself.

Crappie and bream are great as well.

I like my fish fried, and I like catching my own fish.

I won't eat a fish unless me or someone I'm with catch it.

For fresh water fish, I'm that way, but for ocean fish, I'll order flounder at a restaurant every now and then.

Unfortunately the catfish by me are small and terrible. We call them mudfish. I think it has something to do with the brackish water. Might try one of the sail cats I get now and again.

What we call mudcats around here are flatheads. They're big and delicious.

The sail cats are definitely bigger than the regular catfish by me. But the small ones are good to slice up and throw in the crab traps

I'm with ya but I have a hard time deciding between red and snook. Had a sand trout I caught not too long ago and it was right up there. But love me some reds

I just noticed my shadow at the side of the picture with my big ole knife. Heading down south in 2 weeks, can't wait.

They take on the flavor of what they eat.

Pike is delicious and if you Learn to filet them right, you'll have boneless white eat that is delicious.

Walleye are the best eatin', with N. Pike as a close second.

When cleaning a walleye be sure not to forget the cheek meat, it makes awesome walleye nuggets.

One rule with N.Pike, they don't go into the live well. The bastards put off a defensive slime that is just a mess to clean up, therefore stringer only.

They are the slimiest fuckers ever. One the toughest parts about filleting them. It just keeps coming too. I don't care how much you hose em off. It'd turn ya off if ya didn't know any better.

Thats no shit. I think that's why the lil' bastards take me so long to clean, tough to keep'em on the fillet table. Gettin' that slimy shit outta boat carpet suck's ass.

Something magical about catching some walleye up at Buck Creek Lake and frying them all day long.

Eatin' fish = walleye
Fancy fish eatin = swordfish filets followed closely by halibut

When I was a kid my Dad was big into fishing the Wisconsin River..... He'd deep fry catfish, walleye and go on smelt runs......I hated catfish and smelt, but I loved the walleye.
I have not had any good home cooked walleye since 2013.......Damn I miss my Dad.

Arapaima

OK, so, it's an Amazonian fish, and, it's succumbing to overfishing in the wild, BUT, these magnificent fish are being responsibly farm raised, with sales of their tasty flesh sponsoring stock releases into the wild rivers which are its native habitat.

Arapaima is prized by locals in the Amazon River basin because its flesh can be cured and kept without refrigeration.
