WVU's 38-point win over Kansas State was its largest margin of victory in a conference game since beating Furman, 105-67, on Dec. 7, 1957 in the Southern Conference.

KSU came into yesterday's contest averaging almost 76 ppg. They had a 47.2% FG average.

WVU was coming off its worst loss of the year... losing to fucking ISU... giving up 93 pts to the Cyclones.

Yesterday, WVU allowed KSU to shoot 29.8% from the floor and held them to 51 pts. WVU shot 54.9% from the floor, made 23-24 FT's.

Loved the fact that Huggy used is point drop zone in the 2nd half. With such a short quality bench and the need to keep Sags on the court as much as possible, I think zone is the future for this year's team.

Hubby read this board and did everything we said.

We have a whaky conference. This is wide open. Kansas is mortal. Looks like Huggs comments last week worked. I saw a bunch of guys who looked like they did not want to transfer to Moundsville U.

On the road in the B12. I won't expect a win.

You never know. this team could play like a bunch of D2 players or like the best team in the country.

Same story different finish. This is bad for my heart, but still better than blowing a double digit lead and losing.

WVU hung on to beat Trae Young. Wasn’t looking good there for awhile in the 2nd half. Best scoring options in the first half were West and Bolden. Made sense to start the 2nd half with both on the bench.

Oh well... it’s a team game. And, the better team won...

Thought they ran offense a little better last night...well at least in the first half...not sure what Carter was trying to do in the second half....clearly when Beetle is running point teams know to try and trap..just not his thing! I honestly can't remember a talent like Sags...can't wait to see his game next year! He was again a one man gang..OU was intimidated by him from the word go...

Is it just me but is Lamont West shot the ugliest shot for a guy his size? He rains his jumper like he is 5'5..

Liked Routt's effort last night..he ain't pretty but he was moving his feet and playing as fast and aggressive as he can..

I am sure its just me but I am not a fan of Trae Young's game...maybe I have not seen him enough this year but there is just something about it that seems soft to me...

Watching last nights game especially in the second half I realized what this team is missing..they are missing an Nathan Adrian type..a kid that knows where he is supposed to be on the floor at all times...

Bolden and West cooled off in the second half. When they are hitting, we are about impossible to stop. Carter is at his best when he is driving and dishing, he is terrible at going to the basket in the half court offense. Asa is looking better but he needs to make the free throws a bit better. Routt almost looked like he belonged out there.

Trae young needs a coach like Huggs. His problem is ball control and security. JC picked the ball out of his hands, and he gets just too many turnovers. Oklahoma did this with Buddy Heild a couple of years ago. Young is a Freshman and plays like one.

I'd take Nathan Adrian for West or Harris any day. I'd also take a Trae Young.

It was great to see West come out of his shooting slump. He looked better on Saturday, and he hit his first 5 three’s last night. We need him to remain an outside threat. With West and Bolden, we might have a chance to do something this year.

Esa is looking better the past two games too. Nice to see him take it strong for the jam last night near game’s end. Maybe he will snap out of his weed induced fog.

I guess the fact that Trae does the whole head flail makes him look soft. But, the kid has a ton of grit IMO. He ain’t afraid to take it to the rim... and attacks the basket against any... and all defenders.

It is sickening what ESPN has done this season promoting him. But, I guess that is what their marketing dept feels is best to get viewership. Seems like poor logic to me. Why promote the one and dones? Promote the game and the teams making the year special. But, that is my inbred logic...

Even though Beatle had 3 fouls at half, I could not understand why Huggs didn’t put him into the 2nd half of the game sooner. Over 6 min. without scoring to start the half.

So frustrating...

That’s 1 in a row on the plus side. JC needs to drive and dish. He seems to get easily rejected when he attempts to place inside. West needs to know when he is in a slump. Esa looked better last night than he did his first game back. They need to get out of their motion earlier to set up a play. It appeared that they would get the shot clock down to 5 seconds and throwup an unbalanced shot or drive. I like the way they are eating clock but they need to capitalize off of the effort.

Hopefully Huggs will build the team up again. Praise them for a hard fought win on the road. The collapse was in the making but I saw more people making plays down low in the second half than chucking threes. Hopefully they can build off of this. We shall see.

Carter is quite limited around the rim. Just not his game. It’s a shame too. The freedom of movement rules really help guys who have great speed and handles like Trae Young.

Shooters shoot themselves out of a slump. It pissed me off when Huggs was critical of West shooting 3’s even though they weren’t falling. Who the fuck does that? Let the kid shoot the damn ball.

I think that's a great observation..they seem to run better offense well outside of a 10 second clock..anything side of that seems like they force everything...

Shooters shoot themselves out of slumps but a shooter also needs to know if he ain’t got it that night then his shot selection needs to readjust. No need to attempt to shot his way out all in one night.

On the other hand, I don’t mind being challenged but to be yanked each time I make a mistake would be very frustrating. Either I would play not to be yanked or develop a piss poor attitude. Could this be Teddy Buckets issue? Kids need discipline but the short lease amazes me.

West shoots from beyond the arc. I don’t feel you ever discourage a shooter from doing his thing. Once he stops for a millisecond to think about whether he should be taking the shot... it decreases the chance of success of making the shot.

I’ve always hated Huggs’ short leash with his underclassmen.

I can’t stand Teddy’s game, so I’m biased and I know I would not be fair talking about him. If I were coach, the only time he’d see the floor would be when everyone else was in foul trouble.

Seems like he is out of sorts..first he was only looking to take his shot..now he is looking only to make a pass..

Some think he’s a good passer. He has no outside shot... he has a terrible hitch. The only thing he can do is drive to the lane and put up a floater. He can’t get close to the basket because he has no ability to get his shot off against guys taller than him.

I really don’t know what you do with him. He’s too short to play inside, and he’s got no outside game. And, he can’t play defense...

I can’t see sacrificing any game to get a shooter out of a slump. As a player, he should realize when he is on or when he his off. When you’re off, you get involved in the offense without hurting you team. This isn’t geared towards just West. Esa isn’t a 3 pt shooter and went 0-5 against OU. There are going to be some games, maybe, where he may go 4-5. Beetle shot lights out Saturday night and was clearly in the zone.if the kid can’t figure it out, then the HC needs to give guidance. A pure shooter is like that guy in the casino, the next one is going to be the winner. Meanwhile a 15 point lead is being cut into. The bad thing about all of this, when the game is on the line, everybody freezes up. Monday night was the first time that they didn’t collapse in about 8(?) games.

I think its a slippery slope especially with this team..none of them seem to be consistent shooters and if you are supposed to be THAT GUY who is responsible for hitting 3 or 4 threes a game your going to have to let him work it out on the floor..
