Paterno's will settle in a heart beat just to restore the wins and statue. It's a guaranteed win for them if they settle. It's a possibility they get what they want if PSU goes for the juggler. Penn state was not scared, the BOT was in collusion with the NCAA and Freeh as a mound of emails have already proven. PSU BOT literally threw the football program under teh bus to protect thier interests as well as friends of theirs who were all very deeply involved in 2nd mile, which is where teh real problem was. They know this and know how bad its gonna be if it goes to court so they are doing anything they can to avoid it. They always assumed it would never make trial, now that it has in 2 separate cases, they are in panic. Corbett, the former AG, the BOT power block and Erickson are all feeling a little uncomfortable now to say the least.

It goes to court and the BOT (mainly Peetz, Surma, Frazier and their cronies), NCAA brass and Freeh are publicly shamed when proven they colluded to throw a great man under the bus for various reasons ranging from protecting their business interests, to making a big power play to grabbing an easy payday. The wins and rest of sanctions being overturned are a foregone conclusion already. I want to see the State and the Paternos put these mother fuckers through t eh ringer, sue the shit out of the NCAA and the individuals, shame them and take them to cleaners and turn around to donate every penny of these hypocrites money they win to charities to prevent child abuse
