Today the Bengals said they turned down a 2nd round pick offer for McCarron from Denver.

1. The Bengals are using it to try and get some other team interested and setting the price high by letting them know someone else is willing to give a 2nd.

2. Elway is denying it because he doesn't want Lynch/Siemian/media to know he was interested in other options. If the Bengals denied the offer he has nothing to gain by admitting he offered it.

If it is true, and I certainly couldn't doubt it's possible, doesn't bode well for TS PL and Broncos fans. We pretty much know, even if Sloter earns roster spot,he's not option so looks like John is pretty worried about his back up Qb if his starter goes down. Far cry from his " I think we have two very capable Qb's " comments before training camp started.

As bad as Lynch has looked and as stop gap as Siemian is, it might not be a bad idea to take a longer look at Sloter.

If the "QB competition" is rigged as I suspect - Paxton Lynch will have better execution (2nd preseason game) - more aggressive play calling. We shall see if Lynch can handle the pressure of playing #1 QB while dancing on this silver platter opportunity.

Sounds like Paxton has had the better practices since the game then Siemian. We have non consistency here at all.

From the sound of it the 2 completely reversed. Paxton now is making quick reads and making some nice throws where Siemian is the one looking lost. The week leading up like you said complete opposite. Big week ahead for both QB's.
