Eagles vs. Raiders

I haven't seen a thread on this yet so here goes. Growing up in the Bay Area this is a team I really want to beat. I think our defense finally wakes up and this is a statement game.

Eagles will win this game. Have the Raiders arrived in Philly yet? That coast to coast trip wears on anybody. The 3 hour difference is a big deal imo. I think the Eagles defense will bounce back. My prediction is Philly 27 Raiders 13.

Not sure, but I don't think LA gets here until Sunday. My early prediction is:
Birds - 31
Raids - 20

These are like exhibition games now until the big one in a few weeks.

I’d really like the D to come out and kick some ass. Want to feel like we could win a playoff game but after last weeks poor showing I have my doubts. Dallas D looks a lot better than ours lately.

Eagles need to be aggressive in the 1st half. Keep Raiders on their toes. Play our game not theirs.
Foles should get the green light on going down field. The experience will help him to be confident
in future games. This is no time to be conservative. GO EAGLES!

I’d prefer a more aggressive game plan with more passing. It appears they want to run the clock down on Raiders hapless run defense and be satisfied with a TD each quarter.

At least Mills can come up with the occasional INT. Other than that, he's just as bad with holding, PI, tackling, and getting burned.

Foles finally finds Ertz. He needs to use all the receivers to open things up. Could be conservative play calling.

These slow starts and the struggles on defense are a huge concern. I'm not sure the reasoning for this, but it's been now 4 weeks now.

I am coming to the realization that without Wentz, Peters, and Hicks, particularly, we are not very good, and Wentz had been bailing us out. Next year our DB's s/b: Jones, Darby, Robinson, Jenkins, and either Douglas or McLeod. Mills needs to be a backup. If Peters is healthy, move him to LG, and draft/trade a LT.

Nick Foles was trash tonight man. He is so streaky. I have a bad feeling we will be one and done, but Doug now has a chance to rest everyone for two weeks and get this team healed up and prepared.

While that turned out to be an excellent late xmas gift (home field advantage is a great thing!)...that was a very concerning offense. The defense toyed with them, but eventually showed up.

It felt like a game where we showed to be a young team. Maybe it was because it was Christmas night....but they showed major lack of composure. It took a strong Vet like Long to show how you fight! That's such good leadership for these guys.

It's HFA....and that helps so much. But that lack of composure that worries me the most going into the playoffs.
