Tommy Schutt Suffers Broken Foot, Out 6-8 Weeks | Eleven Warriors
Defensive lineman Tommy Schutt was one of many success stories coming out of Ohio State's fall camp. Listed as the backup at nose guard and tackle, Schutt was a shoo-in to be a part of the defensive line rotation. He was pushing Joel Hale at nose guard particularly hard for playing time.
But now his progress has been stunted in a big way. Sources told Eleven Warriors that Schutt, a native of Glen Ellyn, Ill., suffered a broken foot in practice and will be out of action 6-8 weeks. That puts a return sometime in mid-October or November.
According to the Buckeyes' official depth chart, redshirt sophomore Chris Carter would slide into the second-team nose guard role and true freshman Michael Hill would be Michael Bennet's backup at tackle.
