His WHIP and ERA are nothing spectacular but Jose Valdez' K rate is amazing so far with Sacramento. In 11 appearances, he's struck out 24 batters. This puts his K/9 at 14.12!

Poking around on Sac's stats and just saw that Steven Duggar is tied with Ryder Jones for the most errors on the team, with 6 apiece! Seems like its good for Duggar to spend some time at AAA. His offensive numbers don't look that great either.

Just saw that the Giants ended the Michael Cederoth experiment on May 2nd. I'm guessing this was a personality issue or they got tired of the amount of walks he issued.

That is weird. For a 3rd rounder to have been kicked to the curb by 2 seperate orgs before the completion of his 5th season is pretty shocking. Especially given that his numbers are not THAT bad (not good, mind you, just not BAD).

His cousin's husband works at the same place as I do and he mentioned that Cederoth can be stubborn. I wonder if both orgs just got tired of trying to get through to him.

Yeah I saw that and, after a second time, thought it must have been character issues.

Chase Johnson back after missing the majority of last year recovering from TJ. Interesting to see him in the rotation again. Could be a way to just build up innings, or the Giants are that desperate for SP depth..... at this point they can just use healthy arms.

Also, not sure why Slater is in AAA. With Mac and Pence out, I feel like he should be getting all the ABs in LF.

Another perfect appearance for Ray Black

I kinda get the sense that Law is up with an ultimatum. Perform or find a new org.

What timing for him. Seems like he got shellacked his last couple of outings with Sacramento. Of course, so did Snelten (don't call me Snelton) with SF before the roster swap.

Agreed but the Giants really feel that they need some veteran leadership in left field right now. Too many youngsters playing for them right now.

Re: Law...

That’s why I think he has an ultimatum. No other reason to call him up. I think they want Black, but they are giving Law one last chance to save his roster spot.

Austin Slater 1-4, run
Chris Shaw 1-4, RBI, double
Chase d'Arnaud 1-3, run, double
Jeff Arnold 1-3, RBI

Team RISP: 2-for-3

SB: Slater (2, 2nd base off Morales, O/Graterol).

FIELDING

Outfield assists: Duggar (Hermosillo at 2nd base).

Tyler Beede (L, 1-3) 1.2-2-3-3-6-2 (Beede regressing before our eyes)
Nolan Riggs 3.1-3-1-1-1-0
Madison Younginer 2.0-1-0-0-1-1
D.J. Snelten 1.0-2-2-2-0-1
Manny Parra 1.0-3-1-1-1-1

I wouldn't say Beede's regressing, per say, because it's been the same problem for him since college: command. He still has good stuff, just can't throw it where he wants to. That ultimately is what will hold him back, or vault him back into the conversation as a No. 3 starter one day.

Which really sucks for everyone because this is a golden opportunity for him that he's completely missing out on.

Luigi Rodriguez 2-3, double
Miguel Gomez 1-4, RBI, double
Dylan Davis 1-4
Dillon Dobson 1-4, run, 2 RBI, homer (2)

Team RISP: 1-for-9

CS: Lipka (3, 2nd base by Foley/Lidge).

FIELDING
E
: Jebavy (2, fielding).
Pickoffs: Anderson (Gittens at 2nd base).

Shaun Anderson 5.0-4-1-1-2-8
Dan Slania 1.0-1-0-0-0-1
Jake McCasland 2.0-1-0-0-0-0-1
Ryan Halstead (W, 2-1) 1.0-2-0-0-0-1

On the same wavelength.... Shaun Anderson is coming for Beede. Now has a 2.31 ERA, averaging a strikeout per inning, less than a hit per inning, 2 walks per 9. He throws the kitchen sink at you, with command.

See that building in LF? Heliot Ramos hit that building with his homerun.....

He also was down 0-2 another time and worked a walk out of it.
