In his defense ... Soria and Nathan were both very good before coming to Detroit.

Chamberlain was a roll of the dice, and pretty cheap. You got 3 good months out of him. It's on Ausmus that he kept running him out there in the 8th game after game when he clearly had nothing the entire second half.

Signed Joe, signed Joba, traded for Soria(drafted closers in the first several times the last few years), signed Johnson, signed Hanrahanrahan...... I never would have guessed each and every one of them would underperform or not perform at all.

People could say he should have resigned Benoit, but he wouldn't be pitching right now either.

Id like to blame someone or something for the awfulness that is our bullpen, but I can't. It's a collective burden, I think.

This is a mess that never sorted itself out.....what are the odds of everything going wrong that could....nothing worked....but I question what they did today....one more inning from JV and one more from Sanchez. ..then worry about the 9th.....kind of like my head hurts so stop banging it against the wall....

For a guy like Soria to be failing like he's had in Detroit.. Some accountability has to go to the pitching coach also.. It seems like there were a number of relievers that come to Detroit and fail.. Minus Benoit whom I would have traded for over Soria personally..

Well, that's that. May I present for your approval, the simple facts of life. 3 Cy Young winners, 2 MVP's, the Lowest ERA pitcher and the AL Batting Champ(and Triple Crown winner) for 2 years. Unfortunately, these are not Tiger player stats for this year. Hey Dumbo, you should be a "barker" at the circus. He sure sold us a bad package. Now add a manager that has never coached (except for a Third World Olympic team) and bingo, 3 million ticket sales at Comerica. Dumbo should be fired tomorrow. Nuff said.

End of the world the Tigers lost again.

Way too much emphasis on wether a sports team wins and loses is bad for your health.

Miggy just went under the knife and will be laid up for 3 months. Bet he shows up next spring weighing 300 lbs. Good extension signing Dumbo. Oh, his lifetime DH ave is .248, so, good luck Tigers.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Dombrowski's approach to the Tigers' bullpen appears by definition to be insane.

What approach would you like him to try?

He's drafted, traded for and signed relievers pretty heavily. Is there an option Dave and I aren't aware of?

Is this a plot to get DD fired? Then I would rather you try out for the Lions instead.

DD is fine, building a team.........He's a miracle worker at deadlines......But over the past 5 years hasn't somehow un screwed the Bull pen.......

I can give up runs with the best of them and command a lot less on the pay roll is all im saying.

I can also throw interceptions and miss tackles if Mayhew is looking to cut some payroll........This is a business isn't it?

I'm willing to take less and make the same mistakes......

Toronto and the Angles are looking at Dave Dombrowski. If Dave were to go out leaving Detroit with one last hurrah trade for a World Series championship would he do it at all costs?

I'm just saying that Cincinnati has some players that are good that they are interested in dumping for money's sake. You have no first baseman or third baseman or dominant closer or two reliable starting pitchers.

I wont mention any names but you check out the Reds roster and see what you think. Now the part that isn't too Tigers friendly: Who do you have that would net the most return on a trade? A package deal perhaps. This could be the last hurrah effort by Dave to give Detroit any chance of winning one for Mike Illitch. I am just saying.

Does anyone have a thought scenario for a blockbuster win-at-all costs trade? For Detroit to play there last 85 games with. You're 9 games out right now and slipping.

Sure.

Trade Price, Cespedes, Soria, Avila and Davis for "prospects", then trade those to Cincy. Since we don't have any left.

(Mike Leake is my favorite FA to be out there. Cuz he's good and won't require a crazy package. But I'm all for selling, not buying. Todd Frazier mucked everything up on Monday or he'd be real high on my list. Almost 9mil Cincy could save there.)
