he is not wrong ... even tho he is refusing to admit McCloughan thought Doctson was the best player available.

there could have been a scenario where GM SM had two BPA on his board ... one was WR doctson & the other was LT ... which we have solidified.

so ... GM SM took into consideration the contracts of the haitian sensation & jackson .... & decided to draft the WR.

in which case GM SM drafted the BPA & also took into consideration upcoming contracts.

Dean...read what he wrote. He didn't say you were right. He said people were equals on the board and this was a deciding factor. You refuse to believe people base draft on skill over need.

Agreed but with a decent team with a good young QB and the worst set of receivers ever seen on an NFL roster who is to say he wouldn't be worth it.

Does anyone even know if Doc is healthy and able to run/develop? Guy is in the Witness Protection Program.

Back to the draft I do find it interesting that SM traded back a pick before drafting him. If he was absolutely sold why would he do that? More likely he had 2 players rated virtually identically and was fine with either one, picking up a future 6th in the process. Obviously the pick has been a disaster to date but there is still plenty of time. I was fine with the pick at the time although I would have preferred a DL, so I'm not bailing on Doctson yet.
