This. I understand why they're doing it, but Bonds is still such a huge part of the Giants history. I was at Barry's last game and even though the crowd was frenzied, it was hard to shake the feeling that it wasn't as great of a moment as it should have been. I knew then that Barry wouldn't be the Willie Mays, Willie Mac type guys to be honored all the time. Still sucks.

players took speed,booze and all kinds of shit......i say throw out all the stats from the prohibition era ..alcohol was an illegal substance and we know alcoholics played back then...you dont think a bottle of booze in the morning to an alcoholic is a perfomance enhancer,lets see them hit/pitch with the shakes

Agreed. This was the phase pro sports went through. I am not in favor of PED's, and am in favor of testing for them now, but that was the era sports went through - very ill-defined or non-existent regulations on this, and poorly enforced at that.

What is amusing here is that if the shield was stolen, what will the thieves DO with it? Put it up on eBay?
