It's 3 fucking hours long.
How are they going to squeeze in "the empowerment of women" into that extra hour.
I mean, they'll still have some dumb bitch that can't dance, that can't move, that lacks any kind of decision making skills, that is the target of a male predator who is friends with another dumb bitch who gets knocked up by a guy that fucks her then leaves, showing excellent life choices.

There is just no way this movie is true to the original in any way shape or form other than the title of the movie.
Women just won't stand for it.

One thing that I find funny these days in any (in-person) discussion of "Dirty Dancing" is looking around to see if anyone makes a face or chuckles at the mention of the name "Johnny Castle". When you get a woman who does a double take at that you know that she's a fun gal at least.
