The Tigers are leaving no stone unturned as they attempt to put together anything resembling a workable bullpen.

They have even resorted to the Yankees strategy of signing aging former stars -- As it stands right now -- Detroit has Joe Nathan, Joakim Soria, Joel Hanrahan, as well as Joba Chamberlain and now they signed Jim Johnson to a minor league contract.

Between Nathan, Soria, Hanrahan and Johnson -- They have a boatload of saves in their careers. Too bad every one of them seems to be on their last legs.:suds:

Those are not legs, those are bloody nubs.

Need to learn to get some clutch hitting or it will be a short post season, if they get past KC and Injuns.

Absolutely agree. The bottom end of the lineup is a disaster. Imagine how the lineup would look if JD Martinez hadn't shown up out of the nowhere. Yikes.

Here is to hoping the lineup gets hot in the post season. They have put up very good numbers, but too many times, like you said, they fail to come up with clutch hitting.

at least they are actually "trying" to do something about the pen finally after 4 seasons of being a pain...maybe they can finally get rid of the anchor Coke...I applaud them for working harder on it than ever. They seem to want to win it finally.

They became the yankees strategists when they started writing bigger checks and signed Hunter, Fielder (any Fielder at 28 is like a normal player at 35, and both proving to be true, lol) and got VMart, they are just finally doing it with pitching.

Wouldn't be suprised if all 4 were on the post season roster, with Hanrahan ending up being the star.
