I know you are lurking around this board, not unlike you do at the local elementary school.....so I have something for you. Please copy and cut out this picture, tape it (or better yet, staple it) to your crotch and pretend you are a man.

I really hit a sensitive spot when I told people that you and doug are the same people.

Are you going to be a man on THIS thread Voltaire and talk baseball? I've asked for some reasons for Ausmus to be fired, beyond that of just a poor team W/L record. Are you capable of doing that? Or do you really need that picture I posted?
Go play your douggie games on that other thread.

So you suggest NEVER using K-Rod again? Just let him sit there and collect dust? I would think the fault might belong to whomever has kept K-Rod on the roster (if you believe he is so awful). You are aware that Ausmus is not totally responsible for determining who is - or isn't - on the roster????

Yeah, actually I am. He is toast. You don't put him in a 1-2 run game. You want him to pitch an inning or two in a blowout? Fine. Now I agree that it isn't all on Ausmus, he doesn't put the roster together, but he doesn't help his case when he puts him in for critical spots.

Now my jab was really tongue in cheek, do you really think Ausmus has done a great job as a manger?

KRod has the 8th worst ERA on the team. And the 8th worst WHIP. Shit, the team ERA is over 5 for the last month.

Who do you want him to use?

Not sure where you get 8th worst on the team in ERA or WHIP, unless you are doing "qualified". In that case, the only one worse than him is Annibal "the human blowtorch" Sanchez in ERA, and close to that with WHIP. Dude has two pitches, neither of which work anymore. He got old, it happens, but he isn't going to get better at the this point and putting him out there in tight games is going to result in more tape measure home runs.

Who to use? Not an easy answer, no doubt. It's actually amazing that finding a replacement isn't easy, with how bad both K-Rod and Sanchez have been. This team is a train wreck, and I don't think it is going to be a quick recovery.

7 people have worse ERAs for the Tigers on the season.

That is counting shitbirds like Rondon though. (We've almost seen 30 guys pitch for Detroit this year.)

I know KRod sucks, but so does every other member of the bullpen. Alex Wilson is unusable right now imo. And we might see him in the bottom
Of the 8th.

The only one with any meaningful amount of innings worse than K-Rod is Sanchez. I don't really consider pitchers that have fewer than 7 innings to be relevant. I'll agree the bullpen sucks, no doubt, but K-Rod is completely useless. It happens, pitchers hit that age where they don't have the velocity. An 89 mph fastball compared to an 82 mph changeup isn't enough to get it done in the MLB. Now in fairness to Brad, I know he doesn't have a lot of options. But his job is on the line, and as such, he should be demanding something other than having K-Rod in the bullpen, even if it means DFA'ing him.

Name me a guy in the system who you think would get outs better than Frankie.

I'm not trying to be a dick. I can't name one guy. Honestly.

And I'd like to never see Buck Farmer, Sanchez or Boyd start. But I don't have anyone I think would do better. I'd like Matt Manning to not be in short season in his second year as a pro. But he is. And every list I've seen has him as our top prospect.

There is no help on it's way any time soon. (Just look at the list. The seldom used used guys are what would replace KRod. Only not Jiminez, he hasn't pitched since he went down.)

But smitty...as soon as Ausmus is canned, the bullpen will be 100% better. :)

I truly hope Ausmus lands a managerial job where he can show if he has some skills without being bogged down by poor GMs.

I loved what he did his first six weeks. The we're trying to stretch singles into doubles, pushing guys to score from first, stealing in situations other than two outs, just generally forcing teams to make plays. And it wasn't exactly a fast team back in '14 either.

Then after running into a few outs(it happens when you're aggressive like that.) he took his foot off the gas and went back to the same softball shit, sit back and wait for homers.

Don't know if the change came from up stairs, he realized they weren't going to get faster or what. But I liked that brand of baseball.

He's gotta hope Andy Green doesn't get fired before he does. (He's already 40 games under .500 in year two.). Or maybe he doesn't even care. DD would prolly bring him to Boston during the offseason if Farrell doesn't get them to the ALCS anyway.

Iffy/Doug you send a picture meant to be derogatory, and then you want me to answer you. You are a sad person and may need some professional help.

Is there anyone that is a mediocre minor leaguer, never pitched in the majors before? That would be my choice because every time we seem to face one of those, our bats get shut down.

At this point releasing K-Rod seems like the right thing to do. Maybe grab some pitcher some team just released to replace him. Just a thought however....Detroit released Mike Pelfrey and he landed with the White Sox where he has been a useful, if not great, part of THEIR staff.

Apology to people on this thread for bringing Voltaire's doug/iffy thing over here.

If any of you want to put me on ignore....that is your option and right. Seems like the current American thing to do.

{I am not being a smart ass here}. IF (and I have no idea about the Tiger's plans) the Tigers are thinking of firing Ausmus and replacing him with Lloyd McClendon (or, good lordy, Gene Lamont)....what is the upside? If someone wants to tell me how either of those two are an improvement....I'm all ears.
Now there is a current rumor that Omar Vizquel could be the new manager. OK. You could say a "fresh face" is being brought in. However....I recall Brad Ausmus had no managerial experience when he was hired, and that bothered a lot of fans. So...Omar would be just a place holder? Until Mr. Avila Sr. and the gang who brought you the current mess, figure out who they really want?

So...my choice? If they don't hire Rich Dubee, who would bring stoners from far and wide to Tiger games, keep Ausmus.
