My guess is that happens with or without Trump but these companies are taking advantage of the extra PR. But there's no way to prove my suspicions.

So you think it's just a coincidence that major companies like Carrier, Ford and Chrysler have all decided within 2 months of each other to make major investments on US soil? Don't think it has anything to do with the fact that they might not be getting taxed to all holy hell anymore?

Anything that's happened right now has happened under Obama's policies. A sitting president can barely take credit for things like this. An incoming president even less so. Again, I think companies are taking advantage of the PR for things they were probably going to do anyway.

I think it's more likely stuff Trump has had in the works for a long time and bringing them to the light so he can manage perceptions.

Making the announcement right now doesn't mean the actual events will take place under Obama's policies and they know that. Come on, dude. At least try and be somewhat objective.

I think you're putting far too much weight on the impact of an incoming president.

And I think you're one of those stubborn individuals who will attribute every negative thing that happens when he's president to him while giving him 0 credit for anything positive.

That's not true. I actually have said that taxing imports selectively would be a good way to discourage companies from sending work over seas.

...but you think these 3 massive announcements all just happened to come to fruition at the exact same time by pure coincidence...

Carrier still moved 1300+ jobs from Indiana to Mexico while keeping around 850.

Ford made the decision to stay in American more based on the higher level of education required for the type of manufacturing jobs at the company.

Diagnosed with Stage 3 liver cancer goes through months of treatments, 3 surgeries and is told he is cancer free. Says "all this medical science is nice, but I think it was the moment I switched to a scent free deodorant that cleared the cancer up".

The Carrier deal, though, is still due to Trump negotiating. Carrier even admitted that. If it saves 850 American jobs, even in the short term, I don't see any negative there.

I didn't know that about the Ford deal. Do you have any more info on that?

So Carrier delays moving 850 jobs to gain some PR and a bankload of money from taxpayers and moves those jobs out in later 2017.

Yay America! I feel pity on the people who move to Detroit to claim these jobs, though. Their kids will probably grow up Lions fans. Making America Great Again, like Freedom, isn't free. I salute these people for their sacrifice.
