1993 Chevy Pickup, stepside. Tore the transmission out of it doing burnouts in reverse going uphill. Mine was very similar to the one in the picture, except mine was red that faded into burgundy trim.

78 Grand Prix. I paid $1400 for it cash. 4 years later traded it in for a new 91 Honda Civic Hatchback. That was way before all the kids started to fix them up.

Nice first car. Not too problematic but did have to replace the transimission once.

I was the third member of my family to drive that camry...started out as my mom's, she got it used, couple years old...then my oldest sister got it, she had it for a while and beat it up pretty good, then I got it in 1999...drove good for a year or two before she died

My grandpa bought it for me when I was 15 for $75 cash from an old lady who's husband had used it for sunday driving. It wasn't running, hadn't been drove in years since her husband had passed, and was full of nasty trash in the bed.

Spent about $20 on some old used bald tires and an afternoon getting it running, then a quick trip to the dump to empty out the bed and drove it home.

It had a straight 6 in it, 3 speed in the column which was a bit of a pain at times because they weren't synchronized. Luckily it didn't take me long to get use to not going from 3rd to 1st and locking them up, but the first time I did it, was right dab in the middle of main street. Was pretty embarrassing.

Ended up selling it a year later for $475 and using it to buy a clutch and other stuff on an 84 Honda Civic that was my car when I turned 16. Which was a damn good car that I ragged the shit out of.

I'm kinda wanting something like that now to fix up.

I'd like to get another one myself. I loved the truck, but my parents made me sell it for something that was more economical.

'76 Chevy C-10. Inline six, 3 on the tree.
I ended up taking the 250 out and put in a 283 from a '64 Malibu, then blew that up. Ended up selling it for scrap.

1964 Volvo pv544

had 75,000 miles when I paid $300 for it in 1968...had 195,000 miles on it, running on 2 cylinders, when I limped it home 280 miles on interstate 94 (would jump into the airstreams of passing semis for the draft...get my speed up past 45mph.) car would still be hauling today if I wasn't such a lazy stupid sob.

'79 Monte Carlo

choppedbossmonte79.jpg

Mine was white with burgundy pleather interior, 305 v8 if I remember...hard top just like this one...I had true spoke rims with whitewall tires on it. The large wheels on this one takes it out of my day, but I must say this car is clean.

I bought the car new for $7900...paid it off in '82 and a yr later traded it in on a '83 Volvo GL...really got hosed...got like $2500k for that car with barely 70k miles on it...did sell my wheels first though.

This era of the Monte Carlo body style was not really classic imo so I never missed it.

1991 Mercury Capri

Bought it new in 1992 and still own it.

Similar to this one:

i229185.jpg
I just sold mine ('91 Red one as pic'ed) to buy my '08 Focus. I had the hardtop to go on my Capri, had 184+K miles, had a lot of fun (they handle pretty good) but it was time for a change again.
