A standing commitment kept me from starting this thread earlier, or watching
the early innings of this game.

It appears from the box score that Dempster had a "dumpster" 2 inning,
but our team hasn't given up. Good for them!

Off what I see at Baseball-Reference.com - MLB Stats, Standings, Scores, History this Steven Wright is strictly an emergency fill-in.

But with Dempster needing 91 pitches to get 10 outs it figures we're going to have to use a lot of warm bodies today.

Not what I was hoping for, but survivable.

Let's hope we haven't seen Brock Holt's best hitting yet.

His OPS so far is nothing to brag about.

Well Wright did an amazing job last night! I think Dempster right now is going the way of Lester and Beckett. Had their moment in the sun and now is fading away

Lester will rebound, Dempster won't.

Lester is a good pitcher having a sub-par stretch, Dempster is just an end-of-the-rotation warm body. BeckettI'm less sure about. I won't pretend to know how serious his injuries actually are.

That's why we can't really be too hard on Dempster. He wasn't brought in to be an ace or anything but Lester (besides Clay) is counted on being a close to ace status.
