Boston police are investigating a possible suicide aboard the yacht of Red Sox owner John Henry on Monday afternoon. There has not been any comment from Henry, and it is unclear if he was on the yacht at the time.
Authorities and medics were called to Rowes Wharf behind the Boston Harbor Hotel, where the yacht was parked. Officers found a man, roughly 30 years old, in cardiac arrest. He later passed away and his identity has not been released. A Boston police spokesperson said it was "an apparent suicide," according to CBS Boston.
Henry, 63, purchased the Red Sox in 2002 as part of a multi-franchise sale that put the Marlins in the hands of Jeffrey Loria. Henry made his fortune as a commodities broker.
The Red Sox may issue a statement later on Monday.
