Agree with him. I've never understood the In n Out thing. It's not a bad burger, but it's definitely not nearly worth the line you have to wait in to get one.

Agree with him. I've never understood the In n Out thing. It's not a bad burger, but it's definitely not nearly worth the line you have to wait in to get one.

Those lines are ridiculous whether you drive by at 11 am, 11 pm, or anytime in between. Even the best fast food joints shouldn't get that much service, let alone one that's average.

Good burger joints are almost always small franchises or mom and pops. Here in the northeast you have to have a fried egg on top. Sorry Mecca but 5 guys is not even worthy to rate, that dried up square crap

East coast transplant living in CA, I agree In-n-out is somewhat overrated, but it's one of my son's go to places so I eat it quite a bit. It's fresh, quality food for a better price than most burger joints.

I just can't understand how their fresh cut fries can come out so shitty.

I'm thinking more like Five Guys. I've been told Five Guys is the East Coast In N Out. I've never had either one.

Definitely more like Five Guys. Fast food, same “fresh” ingredients kind of concept. Limited menu, pretty much just burgers and fries. Even their toppings are limited.

I've had Shake Shack, In and Out and 5 Guys. Of those, I would rank them:

1) Shake Shack. The Burger with both the Beef and Mushroom patty is bomb. Fries ok, Shakes good, obv.

2) In and Out. The Burger to me just has a freshness quality that's hard to describe without actually eating one. Get the Double Double, some animal fries and a Shake and it's a really solid fast food meal.

3) 5 Guys. Feel like I've switched up this and In and Out on my rankings a lot but I have In and Out slightly ahead because of their consistency. 5 guys definitely has more customization options, but overall it just makes the burger a bit messy for my taste. Fries are meh to me, even the cajun ones. They just recently added shakes so it's kind of a work in progress there.
