Wed @ 4:05PM MST Ray (2-1) vs Gonzlez (3-0)
Thu @ 10:05AM MST Greinke (2-2) vs Scherzer (3-2)

This will be interesting. Nats have hot bats and and are scoring a lot of runs. Dbacks have had good starting pitching.

Nice to have earlier start games though.

I wonder why Peralta is missing, I have to assume he doesn't do well against Roark, but I'd rather see him battle vs Ahmed. Roark is a RHP and typically Ahmed usually gets play against LHP. We'll see how it plays out.

With all the Ahmed playing time, it's figures he will soon be his usual sub-par .200 BA

Still haven't decided who I like best for Catcher, nor have I decided on my favorite player for this year. Still kills me we lost Segura, in all my years of baseball, he was the most fun to watch.

Funny, but I just looked at MLB and Chris Herrmann is listed as an outfielder, not a catcher on the active roster. Even ESPN has him listed that way.

He will probably get through it, but the mere thought of him getting the ball invokes uneasiness.

Anyway, GOOD Game and a little surprised we won it.

We are 2 for 4 out of 9 for playing Rockies/National/Rockies. If we get 5 of 9 when it's over that will be a good indication we are doing real things this year.

Facing a tough lefty (Gonzales) with a 1.62 ERA with a lifetime career of 3.68

It will be a hard fought win if we can do it. Hopefully Ray brings his best and we can get into their bullpen early.

Offensively: We are somewhat crippled with Ahmed and Mathis.

And of course it was the only run they scored. It stinks that Ray got the loss on this one. He pitched a great game and the one major miss by Tomas and of course the Dbacks left a lot of base runners on screwed the win for him.

Yes, it is not like the Dbacks didn't have chances to break the game open. Pitching was great and has kept the Nats to 4 runs in 2 games.

Hope we do better today's 10AM game and at least get the series which would be a big win for the Dbacks on the road.

BTW that is Shipley starting today not Greinke pitching today as listed in the OP. I can't update the OP to the correct info.

Greinke will start against Colorado tomorrow.

Offense pretty much capped today again. Two HR's. Too bad they couldn't pull this one out.
