Price is not the brightest bulb in the lamp. He said outright before he was diagnosed, that playing Fortnight was an adrenalin rush that even pitching a no hitter had a hard time matching. He plays in games with 100 other guys and plays continuously until he's killed or he wins. He said playing 5 hours straight was not uncommon.

My grandson plays and he plays for hours on end. He's 16 and I have to take the remote away and force him to take a break. Even with 2 sprained ankles in corsets, I make him help me do some stupid chore to just to get him off the bed and away from the TV.

Price is an adult(?) and should have realized that he was starting to have a problem. Once he started feeling even the slightest tingling, he should have seen a doctor. To get to the point whee there is numbness in the fingers, is way beyond where a professional athlete should get. If I was John Henry, the checks would stop. Cumulative Trauma is generally associated with bad positioning of the body, most often at work, not at play. Damaging your own body doing something stupid should not be rewarded.

True, But the Yanks have had 6 more home games than road games and the Sox 6 more road than home games. Not sure how much of a difference that will make but teams usually play better at home
