Not that I thought there was any chance of the Ms signing Darvish but it’s bummer that he had to sign with one of the “super teams”. The MLB is really turning into the NBA with the haves and have nots. Although most teams are smart not to hang in the middle unlike the Mariners

I agree. It's long past time MLB instituted a salary cap. And a hard cap like the NHL or NFL, not that soft cap BS like the NBA. The luxury tax just isn't nearly enough of a deterrent for teams like the Yankees or Dodgers. I think a salary floor like the NHL has would also be a good thing to prevent teams like the Marlins from pulling their BS.

I agree. I'm a fan of Lynn because although he missed 2016, he has a track record of durability. Cobb is a bit more risky.

The Marlins had the third lowest attendance in MLB in 2017 despite having a relatively new stadium. That's just messed up.

A floor most definitely. But in a way MLB has shown salary caps are irrelevant and just an excuse by owners. Baseball has had the most parity in terms of champions out of the major 3 sports leagues.

I almost put that but it is piling on. In baseball it is damn near impossible to go ten years without at least a playoff appearance and the M's are looking at two decades.
