Scout.com: GSU May Snag 5-Star SEC Transfer *UPDATED*

Da' Rick Rogers is considering transfering to Georgia State. As it would be an FBS-to-FCS transfer, Da'Rick would be immediately eligible to play for the Panthers, and could face his former team on September 8 when the Panthers take on the Volunteers in Knoxville.

When reached for comment, Rogers stated that he is considering a transfer and that "Georgia State would be the only place I'd look at".

Rogers led the Volunteers in 2011 with 67 receptions (equal to the number pulled in by GSU's top two receivers in 2011) for 1,040 yards - a 15.5 yard average (less than Albert Wilson's team-leading 20.9 yard average in 2011).

Wes Rucker tweeted...

Vols All-SEC WR Da'Rick Rogers has to work out some things before returning to the team. Not calling it a suspension.

At least that sounds somewhat promising. Seems like every off season, something like this comes up.

Sounds like Rogers is a part of the team, (for now).

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – After “doing what he needed to do”, junior All-SEC wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers was back out on Haslam Field practicing with the Tennessee football team on Saturday morning.

Rogers, who missed Thursday’s practice, has had positive conversations with head coach Derek Dooley since his absence.

“Very positive,” Dooley said of his meetings with Rogers. “Extremely positive. It’s like I said. With all players – it doesn’t matter who it is, even the best players and even the guys who seem like they have everything going for them – there are a lot of meetings that you have with them.
