Hopefully that 18 mil a year is all guaranteed too. That should set them back a few years
I would have been more concerned if they signed McCown drafted a young guy in rounds 3-4 saved a truck load of money and invested in their defense.
Cutler had them over the barrel and he knew it. Seven years at 18 million would work if he was say 25 but at 30 not so sure. Chicago doesn't want to start over with a new QB and he would have been the #1 FA QB. So IMO Chicago goes forward with what they have and hope they can get their defense better through the draft and limited FA.

Wait so Cutler is now the highest paid QB in NFL history?
