Hopefully that 18 mil a year is all guaranteed too. That should set them back a few years

Next time Cuntler throws for 5000 yards and gets 7 years younger let me know.

Great signing for the Lions, Vikings, and Packers. $13MM more expensive than just playing the backup who did just as well as the sport's biggest pussy and crybaby.

I would have been more concerned if they signed McCown drafted a young guy in rounds 3-4 saved a truck load of money and invested in their defense.

Cutler had them over the barrel and he knew it. Seven years at 18 million would work if he was say 25 but at 30 not so sure. Chicago doesn't want to start over with a new QB and he would have been the #1 FA QB. So IMO Chicago goes forward with what they have and hope they can get their defense better through the draft and limited FA.

When I made that thread "Cutler may be gone" I was upset. This here is what I wanted!! Nice expensive extension. Trestman may be able to help Cutler? Who knows? The money tied up now will hurt resigning Tillman and such. Might force them to do the same stupid ass contracts the Lions have. They had the same amount of cap space the Lions had. NONE!!
Let the INT's keep coming...

Just might be the best part of it. Defense is a glaring need. Should be interesting off season.

The Bears don't have that many players under contract at his point for 2014 but had $46m in space to use towards filling it out. The hit they will take against the cap doesnt necessarily help us but his piss poor play for years to come sure will.

I thought he played well to begin the season, well other than the game against the Lions. Unfortunately for the Lions I think Trestman will get the most out of Cutler. Hopefully I'm wrong.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Jay Cutler's seven-year deal is worth $126 million, and includes $54 million guaranteed.

No Peyton's current contract is 58 million guaranteed over 5 years. His contract is very similar to Aaron Rodgers contract though 7y/130mil with 54 million guaranteed

I was looking online yesterday and 126 million is the highest I saw. Granted I think a couple guys may get mroe per year, or more guarenteed.
