I agree. VMart is much more consistent than Cruz and probably could have gotten more from another team, but he gave Detroit a bit of a discount. I say throw 4 years/$63-65m at Cruz and I bet he takes it.

Yea reports said O's offered Cruz a 3 year deal before the end of the season. Which he said he wants a 5 year deal. 4/60 doesn't seem that bad, then I'm sure they'll try to get rid of Davis since they probably wont be able to keep him after next year.

I say use Davis' service for another year then let him walk. A lineup with Davis hitting behind Cruz is better than one without it. For one year let's make a run with the team we envisioned this year...

There isn't anybody on our team that can produce consistantly like Cruz at the plate.

But I wouldn't have gone any further on a contract than what the Orioles offered. Pearce, Jones, Hardy etc will have to fill the gap. Cruz's departure gives Davis a second chance. Weiters is the question now at the plate after Tommy John surgery
