Possibly the two greatest players of all time and they both have different skill sets/strengths. I really don't see how you can answer this without either/both.

To those saying Kobe instead of MJ, why? That is like taking 50 cents instead of a dollar. They were the same player, Jordan was just a better version.

Yeah, MJ was a better scorer in that, even with as many ways as Kobe was able to find to score, MJ found more. Kobe was a little bit better shooter though.

I'd say more like 75 cents instead of a dollar. Kobe was definitely MJ lite. That's not a knock on Kobe either. If you're going to be the "lite" version of another player, it's hard to find a better one than MJ.

Still though, there are 3 other positions to fill. I will put a couple capable shooters in those spots and take my chances with MJ and LeBron.

While Kobe is a better shooter than MJ, he is just as ball dominant (maybe more). He isn't a catch and shoot player, which is where the shooting advantage might make sense in terms of fit.
