Cousins Debut - Anyone Watching?

So far a pretty good back and forth, but we'll see.

Will be interesting to see how well Davis/Cousins will mesh. Definitely the best front court potential in the league, but it's also a back court dominated league at this point.

Anyway - good game so far.

Pelican's just don't have the back court to make legit teams pay. Cousins/Davis are great, but without a penalty beyond the line or someone that can draw non-stop fouls or push consecutive mid range shots, forget it. Different league.

Let's see how it plays out, but my fears for the Pelican's kind of being realized.. I think it's going to horribly backfire unless they find a legit backcourt player quick.

If this keeps up, DMC will be out of there and into the FA market. He has, what, a one year deal? Somebody with ego isn't going to toil away forever in a smaller market even though he may have come from one.

Much to my surprise, the Pelicans haven't pulled off a winning streak and now Cousins is suspended for tonight's game. Not good at all.

I don't know why you expected a winning streak; they traded away most of their perimeter players to get Cousins. The two big guys have no help left.

They need all the wing help they can get. And Uncle Jrue has been inconsistent this year. A lot better from what he looked like in December, but still inconsistent.

Too early to draw any firm conclusions, but the following two statements could be proven true if this tandem does not work:

1: Cousins is a cancer and a losing player
2: you can't win in the NBA without strong guard play. Big men can only do so much.

I don't see why. They knew going in they were going to have to retool their roster around them and they can't do that till this summer
