Conn Smythe?

With Toews struggling, is there a clear cut favorite anymore? Obviously, if Philly wins, Briere or Pronger would be their candidates (anyone I'm missing Philly fans?). But if Chicago wins and Toews continues to struggle, who's Chicago's other candidate? Niemi? Hossa? Thoughts?

Well, if Philly wins, I think Leighton will have to be that good and will be a favorite

i'd say it's toews all the way, unless someone really steps it up for chicago. agreed with ritari about philly though...if they win, it has to be leighton stealing the show...

I think Pronger for the Flyers, though I didn't see many of their early games,

Hossa has been mainly invisible through 3 rounds. Guess he was waiting for the finals.
Niemi was better than Luongo, and so far has been better than Leighton. that's pretty important.
Still Toews' to lose on that side, though

I'm gonna go with Niemi, he outplayed luongo, stole 2 games from san jose, and stole game 2 from the flyers. Obviously this is contingent on the hawks winning and him continuing to play at a high level.

I think he is a consideration, but he needs to step it up here in the finals a little.

really though, it's tough to call a skater because it's varied...someone may step up in game 1, and someone else in game 2. toews was consistant enough through the first few rounds to get him it if chicago wins, but if he doesn't do anything in 2 more hawks wins, i think it'd have to go to niemi.

I don't really think Leighton will have to steal the show for the Flyers to comeback. They outshot and outchanced the Hawks (2:1) last night, but Niemi came up big when called upon. Leighton was good, probably good enough to win, but in the end the Hawks prevailed.

Leights will have to play similarly to Game Two (aside from the Eager stinkbomb), but I don't think he'll have to go all Jaro Halak.

If the Flyers win, Pronger deserves the Conn Smythe.

Leighton basically only wins it if the Flyers take the series and he gets at least three more shutouts. I mean, he didn't play the first 9 games of the playoffs, that hurts your chances.
