Big12 aint as bad off as some of yall want to believe.

Big 12 Member Distribution Smashes ACC & Pac-12 Payouts

We might have our picks of the PAC and ACC before too much longer..

From the article.
"Back in April, it was reported that the Big 12 hauled in $313 million in revenue over the previous fiscal year, up $40 million from the year before. For Big 12 members, that meant a payout of $28.9 million per school."

28.9 time 10 = $289 million.
Where did the other $24 million go?

Wait
I thought there was unequal revenue sharing

The Pac 12 will never make the amount of money other conferences will. We chose the long game with our network instead of the instant payday.
The PAC, ACC and Big 12 won't ever come close to what the B1G and SEC will rake in. JMO.

Some of that will depend on how much sites like Twitter ect. are going to be willing to pay. The Big12 is actually positioned pretty well to take advantage of that revenue stream opening up by not being tied to a conference network IF (we'll see what happens) they open the vaults.

The crazy fans in the SEC will pay whatever they have to in order to get to watch their beloved team play every game...even if it is Kentucky vs Mizzou. (Hell, I have to pay for the SEC Network too but never watch matchups like that one or some of the other shit. Guess I'm just as bad as the SEC fans. Pay for the B1G network too but I ain't watching Purdue vs Rutgers either.) Not so much on the West Coast or in some other places. They just aren't as "rabid" and the majority of PAC 12 fans aren't willing to pony up a crazy amount just to chant PAC 12, PAC 12, type stuff.

In order for the Pac 12 and Big 12 to catch the BIG and SEC, they'd have to merge. You combine the California and Texas markets and high school talent and that's a powerful conference. It is funny to see the Big 12 doing so well financially, if the Oklahoma president would shut his mouth for awhile this conference would build some momentum.

I have all those networks and have watched those kinds of match ups. I have 3-4 tvs set up to watch games. I try to see at least 1 game from every team every year. usually its a sun belt, CUSA or Mac team that I miss.

I've seen a scenario that had the PAC and Big12 merge minus WVU who would join the ACC along with Notre Dame as a full member to try and make up the gap to but... who knows:noidea:
I would like to see what USC's Tier 3 rights would bring them in our setup compared to what they are doing in the PAC. Yea the money is fading compared to what it was last contract(s) but gotta believe that they would do very well, same with UCLA.

Yeah but you are one of the die hard college football fans. That makes sense. You believe you are getting your monies worth because you enjoy watching the games as you stated.

The normal PAC 12 fan isn't as avid about watching anything more than the marquee games and don't really like being charged to have the SEC or B1G networks when they don't want them.
