Economy in AB has been struggling for maybe 2 of the 5 years taken into consideration. Those people who went there in the first 3 years probably didn't have the means nor the will to up and leave a second time.

Remember back a few years when Iggy was going to be traded to Boston (and then was traded to Pittsburgh) - Bartkowski was one of the guys that was going to come to Calgary in the iggy trade to Boston that never happened (lol).

Flames have sent Kulak down to Stockton to free up a space for Bartkowski. At practice today, Wideman is being partnered with Bartkowski. I'm scared we will see this tomorrow at Rogers Arena.

How many have NHL contracts, or how many are actual NHL defensemen? At least 8 are up with the big club as I type:

Brodie - Stone
Bartkowski - Engelland
Jokipakka - Wideman

That's a bold strategy dressing 8 d and only 10 forwards. I might consider 8 d, 9 forwards and 3 goalies in this case.
