20 year old Sam Bennett will be a healthy scratch tonight which only confirms the following:

18 year old Sam Bennett >>> 20 year old Sam Bennett

Good Kingston boy!! It's a disgrace, an absolute disgrace that this kid, ya know, 190 points for the Frontenacs and everything like that... and Garbutzman, his dummy coach, is gonna play this Bachmann Turner while a blood and guts guy like this watches the game. It kills me, KILLS ME to see these kids get BAMBOOZLED by a coach like Gilbertson there in Calgary!! Reminds me of Stevie Sullivan and you remember how THAT turned out.

Two big games coming up for the Flames (tonight against Nashville and Saturday night against the Oil), win both and things are looking pretty good.

/just keep rat boy off the scoresheet, he always seems to find a way to hurt the Flames.

Too little, too late tonight.

Given up the first goal in nine straight games and given up the first four games in the last three - This comedy has turned into a tragedy.

I guess the one positive is it's pretty clear what the Flames need to do at the trade deadline....

One line out of 4 plus 3 defensive pairings look even remotely competent and people are trying to say it's on the players not the coach.

Sorry, if your coach loses 88% of player personnel's minds 3 months into the job you've got a coaching problem not a player problem.

I thought GG was going to use the word "pathetic" like AI used "practice" in the post-game presser.

It's a problem, no doubt, but the team folds like a cheap card table as soon as they face a little adversity. Also, I think a team can feed off the energy and body language from the head coach and GG is like a wet noodle back there, man show some emotion.

sure maybe ... but that goal through the wickets Johnson gave up last night had to be demoralizing for the players ... i think theyre feeding off their goalies and starving for someone to stop a puck ... I was reminded yesterday of Elliotts reputation on previous teams he played for that hes a guy who never thought hes ever given up a bad goal ... teammates might be seeing/hearing that this year and its not playing well in the room

lol - Maybe, all I know is he does look a lot more confident these days (and "bigger" between the pipes if that makes any sense).

/It also helps that Moneyhands has started to score, now on pace for a 28 goal season.

I think Elliott will play well down the stretch, knowing that he isn't THE guy. He might get most of the starts but he's not an official #1, if that makes sense. That always seems to put him at ease.

He's certainly capable of good play for 1-2 months. I have a feeling, after watching him against Ottawa and Minny that he's going to play well for a while.

Just my gut feeling after watching him over the years. :2cents:

This commitment from the city of Calgary combined with a proposed 2026 Winter Olympics bid could provide the necessary stimulus (funds) to get a new arena for the Flames as well as a new stadium for the Stampeders.

With new arena complex still under consideration, city commits $150 million to Victoria Park
The Flames just might get lucky considering Junior won some seats in Calgary and committing some money for a project like that just might help them keep a few of them, because there is no scenario at the moment where bidding for an Olympics or any level of government in Calgary putting public money toward a private stadium makes any sense considering the massive deficits the AB and federal governments are currently running.
