Leon and McJesus at a combined $20m won't hurt as much as Lucic and RNH at a combined $12m will. (Mainly Lucic of course).
Maroon was more valuable than Looch last year, at 1/4 of the price. Guess who's UFA next summer?

Chicago had to shed pretty much the middle of their lineup after paying Toews/Kane $20m, but that was after a cup or two.
Edmonton is running down the same path after one playoff appearance.

I hope they crash and burn, but the Leon contract is not an awful one.
Funny thing is, they most definitely could have had him for $7m per, before the McContract raised the bar
It's possible but I really think he planned on squeezing the Oilers out for as much as possible.

The Kane/Toews contracts restricted CHI but I'd argue Seabrook and Hossa's (if it's not going to be LTIR-eligible) contracts are the real problem there and while Hossa they would likely do again given he was instrumental to three Cups and that contract was how they got him there, they could've just let Seabrook walk a couple of years ago and been better off for it not only cap-wise but also roster-wise (ie: Hjalmarsson would still be there).

Just going to add that Leon had a 27.3% shooting percentage and a 109 PDO in the playoffs. Those are going to be impossible numbers to sustain going forward.

It'll go down but my guess is his shot totals will rise (he was averaging 1.7 shots per game) and thus even out his goalscoring.

Thanks for posting that Mooger - I watched Ryan Nothing-Happens several times in the Dub and I never thought he was anything special, sure he got his points, but he was by no means a dominant player. Same with Eberle, he got his points, but those Regina Pats teams he played on were godawful.

Let me guess - they were waiting in line to use the urinals - both his and hers.

I like that cream-sicle team because they're cold, ya know cause Edmonton is at the North Pole. But it's still tremendous. Cools you down at a nice cocktail party with the hottest people. And I've been to all those parties. Believe me. Mostly folks, really, I like 'em because they're obviously trying to be like me. Very orange, vanilla inside and you're never gonna see a cream-sicle go down on one knee.

Maybe Jarmo knew more about PullyourRV than the rest of us?

Yamamoto stays (and will play on the second line) and Pullyourrv goes ... interesting

19 years old, dash. 19 years old.

Yes, that's true, he still has some time to turn things around, but there is something quite troubling regarding the way the Oilers develop (or rather don't develop) a lot of their young prospects.

It's still early, but maybe Cam Talbot isn't the second coming of Georges Vezina and maybe just maybe McJesus won;t surpass Gretzky's 92 goal season.
