I'm sure they tried trading him, but moving a big contract like that is pretty rare.

Idk it just seems like a waste. I mean if he doesn’t fit your system you can only do so much. Seems like if they couldn’t find a trade partner he isn’t worth that money from their persepective. I saw him at Ohio St, he was pretty good but has really developed over the last couple years. Some team will get a hell of a young player

His value has to exceed his contract for him to have trade value. His salary was right about where it should be for a player of his caliber, so you can't really trade those.
LOVED him at OSU. Pissed the Niners didn't draft him.
