Looks like A&M made the correct move. Go to the SEC and all of sudden their recruit rankings are #7. Even though their record seems to be stuck at 8-5 every season.

Want to add, I enjoyed Notre Dame's 2016 football season.

This is debatable. They still recruit WELL behind their main competition and finish about the same place they always did in the Big 12.

Funny you say that since 247 recently just dropped several of OSU's highest ranked players. We just went from seven 5* guys to, magically, five.

Congrats to all your teams' haul of football players. As for my team, it's the lowest ranked class since 2000. But it's what I expected. Strong did all his closing after the season, only had 6 players committed. Herman and staff did a good job by not losing one.

He knew in a transition year, there was very little chance of landing a war daddy. So studies the roster (#5, #12 classes past two years) and looked to fill holes.

Best pickup by Herman: JUCO #2 player Gary Johnson, ILB. Johnson had been committed to Bama, but SEC limitations nixed that, so he came to Texas to fill the need of a tough, hammer inside. Also can fly.

Second best pickup: a juco Kicker. Texas has always had great kickers, ala Justin Tucker and Phil Dawson. Have had shit for kickers the last 4 years or so.

Herman spent most of the day on the phone with 2018 players, which is where he will have to start his recruiting with Texas.

Only five or six Espins 300 players this year. But if they can win next year, which is a necessity, recruiting will come back. We've been through this cycle before.
