Knight and everyone else has known that Mayfield was going to be the starter since halfway through last season. His work on the scout team solidified that.
That quarterback competition that happened in Spring and Summer ball? All window dressing and done partially for Knight's benefit.
He would have been great if the offense had truly become a read-type offense under Heupel...but Heupel couldn't gameplan it on a weekly basis and Knight certainly couldn't execute it on a weekly basis. Bad timing?
Anywho...yeah, I wish him well wherever he goes. I can't blame him for wanting to start somewhere. I don't see him being an NFL guy though. Tebow-esque.
