That's okay...if both Tech and FSU make it through their schedules undefeated, that will set up an ACCCG between two highly-ranked teams.

It's a fair starting point for us. Lost a lot of talent and experience, but we've got a lot of potential mixed in with the talent that remains.

I'm not concerned about the lack of opponents in the top 25 either. FSU can take the front runner heat, while we lay a little low on the national radar, build up confidence, and progress through the year. If we take care of business, we'll be in very good shape.

Gotta love Notre Dame ranked yet again too.

If you include all the teams receiving votes (50 total), VT and Mississippi State are the only two schools who do not have team from this polls top 50 scheduled for a non-conference game. Not that big a deal, many teams only have 1 team scheduled from this list along with 3 cupcakes who Ark State would beat.

Isn't that part of their agreement with the BCS and NBC?

I figured we'd be ranked anywhere from 13-18, so I'm pleased we're on the upper end of that range. Assuming LT stays healthy, we could have a shot at the top 5 come late season mainly due to other teams dropping a game or two, not because our schedule. Could be really nice for the ACC to have two top 5 teams play in the championship game if we and FSU run the table. May be the first year to have an at-large bid come from the ACC.

However, I just see us dropping a game or two that we shouldn't on paper. We'll see if the lessons learned last year will carry over and we can start off and end strong.

I think FSU is slightly overrated based on what we do and don't know right now, but really, it's not irrational. I'd argue their only game where they aren't favored is Oklahoma. Losing that game, or even a second under the right circumstances, sets them up Top 10 in December facing quality opponents in the ACC-CG and their bowl.
