Yipee! Gone to the Phillies for a prospect and a bucket of warm spit.
After the no-hitter he was hit or miss, batters hit and he missed games.

I'm happy he's gone. Too much of a mental midget for me, always has been.

I don't know a ton about Tobias. Has he even been out of high A? He's like 24 years old.

From the Boston Herald
"Basically his plus is he's a good hitter," said Dombrowski. "He can play second base, he's played a few games in the outfield, he's a switch-hitter recently. He took up switch-hitting about a year ago in which did that, so he's a natural right-handed hitter. We really like his bat. We think he has a chance to hit as he continues to progress up the ladder so that's his real plus.”

Another plus is the Phillies pay him so the Sox get some wiggle room from the luxury tax

I'm shocked the Red Sox were able to get the Phillies to take his entire salary. I guess it was too big of a risk heading into the season and waiting to see what he did before the trade deadline in order to trade him then

Me too. Clay was for the sox "when he was good he was very good, but when he was bad" he was on the DL for half a season.
Attitude may have been an issue as well.
I wish him well but he had to go.

I'm still not convinced he doesn't have an eating disorder.

A strong breeze will knock him over.

Not as much last year but before that he looked like one of those "faces of meth" poster pictures.

I'd hardly call Tobias a "prospect."

Can't say I'll miss him. He was frustrating to watch, as his translate could never quite translate to a full season. But his overall stats with the Red Sox were good.

At 24, he should've probably been out of high A by now.

he could maybe be a decent bench piece down the road, but that's it.
