A fellow Pontiac Man

I bought this New in 1977

One of my last cars as a single man was an 87 Grand Am, 5-speed. I had never owned a GM product before, but it was a solid vehicle.

I never really liked how all mid-70's cars got stretched out. The worst example was the Thunderbird, which remained a coupe but was longer than some sedans from just a few years before

My apologies. It appears the apple falls far from the tree (unless you only look at that gin thread)

Oh, don't get me wrong, I can be a BIG asshole.

Yes, but the wife beatin' and dip spittin' usually only comes about from 12 ounces of whiskey:noidea:

I try to keep the consumption manageable. And every so often, I go dry for 6-8 months at a clip, just to prove to myself that I don't need it.

That's awesome..........my cars were never decked out like this.Nice.

Thanks.
Had a T/A 6.6 400 Automatic with 3.23 rear.
Ran 15.5 in the Quarter Mile New.
I went to work on it immediately.
Cut the catalytic converter off.
Put dual exhausts on it.
Had the distributor recurved.
Had the Carb reworked.
Put headers on it.
Put Ram Air II heads on it from a 1968 GTO with a competition valve job.
Put the 068 Cam in with 1.65 rockers.
High Performance Shift Kit. Downshift at 75mph on the Interstate, chirp the tires. Upshift at 85mph would chirp the tires and get a little sideways.

It ultimately would run the Quarter mile in the high 12's.
It was a wonderful car. Stood up to a lot of abuse, a lot of abuse.
I loved that car.

How do you guys like old Cadillac's? I don't know what year this is from, but I could see Josh Brolin's character from American Gangster driving it. In fact, it may have been the one that blew up

I was wrong, the car that blew up was a '66 Mustang:

although a '70 Cadillac does appear in the movie:

That looks like a 1977 El Dorado
