A QB with Kaep's limited skill set that walks away from a 14M dollar contract, isn't smart enough to play QB in the NFL.

This keeps getting repeated. His contract was reworked the year before. The 49ers could waive him this year and walk away. Prior to opting out, Kap met with John Lynch and Shanahan. John Lynch told Kap if he didn't opt out the 49ers were going to release him anyway. He was not going to be a 49er next season. Lynch himself said this and it was evident since Lynch and Shanahan took over that Shanahan was not interested in having Kap as a QB.

So he wasn't smart enough to call Lynch's bluff? Same thing. Can't play with the big boys.

What would be the point of that? He had no leverage. The salary cap implications were minimal compared to what he would have been owed. By opting out, he was able to hit the free agency market a month earlier which should have helped him find another team were he not bogged down by his other issues.

This ^^^^^ doesn't help or fit the narrative that Keap is an un-american ass0 who should've kept his mouth shut and just played football.

He made his choice with the protest and now he is dealing with the consequences.

He can come play back up on my team (Dallas) any day of the week.

They are in desperate need of a back up and I think he'd fit in nicely.

But what do I know apparently.

I am so happy you are not running the Cowboys.

There were some threads. Mostly some of the same SF fans who were then saying he was sliced bread, a bag o'chips, and a winning lotto ticket.

Actually, this is not true. The 49er fans in this site did not start Kaep threads on the.general board. They never did
